That's a good point right there. Currently, cellphone theft is just for selling the device itself. With cards going mobile like that, you can spend some cash before the card gets canceled, then, still sell the phone.

This has been a common thing in Asian (specifically Japan and Korea) countries over the last two years or so. Basically they can use their phones as credit cards of sort and purchase using those. If the technology hits big in NA and worldwide, you can bet your bottom dollar that we'll see a rise of phone thefts and hacked accounts.

I can't stress the importance of a WP8 enough. Sony in some ways is way behind on the Android side. Samsung already ate everything there was and lets be honest, if there isn't that much profit in there (since between Apple and Samsung, 98 or 99 percent of the profits are taken), why even bother with 30 handsets. A few sure but Sony should be gunning on WP8, knowing that MS will spend a shit ton of money to promote it. If it had a killer phone on launch, it would put Sony ahead of the game.

They said they will drop it, so no surprise. Good move. I've always hated this green ugly logo that now reminds me of Ericsson - one of the primary causes of SE's failure as a company. All they need now is a WP8 set.

One day, they really do need to realize how important the US market is and that more importantly, you can just release phones here with little to no carrier support or advertisement. At that point, you might as well even bother bringing the phone here.

Sony continues their streak of blunders. They made a big deal at CES about this phone being exclusive to the US and they already released it in Taiwan and continue to leave US customers in the dark as usual. If this is their idea of building anticipation, they deserve to continue failing. Samsung and Apple are running away with the mobile market by keeping their fans in the loop at all times and delivering on promises. What a slap in the face of the last few Sony fans out there.

What I don't understand is why Apple can make better quality products with premium prices and fat margins, yet Sony almost intentionally refuses to and keeps shelling out cheap plastic garbage like the S tablet, that is an absolute failure both marketing and sales wise. Sony needs to follow the Apple's model and just copy paste it, instead they are still trying to invent a wheel...

I think that's what they've yet to be able to do is really create premium products at lower price points. Also, I'm not sure who does Sony's manufacturing negotiating but they need to be fired because its not like their products cost more than others because they have fat margins. If that were the case, Sony wouldn't be in such a financial mess.

In my opinion they do release more and price it higher than other brands. Furthermore, people do expect a premium product from Sony, ALL the time, regardless of the price entry point, which is rather weird to say the least. In combination all these factors translate into lesser tolerance acceptance from consumers (one-time or long standing fans alike). An ugly paradox.

You strike an interesting point, what is it about Sony that they get so much flack for their failed products. Every major company out there; Dell, LG, Microsoft, HP, and Palm to name a few have had their fair share of duds yet people move right a long. Does Sony truly just release that much more than they do? Or is it something else?
